Culture and traditions of Japan

Recently, there is growing interest in Asian culture and traditions. This is not surprising: the West, with its developed over the centuries 'European' mentality and antique-Christian roots always wanted to know and understand the mysterious and so different from her other cultures and ethnicities. The Japanese themselves call their country Nippon, which means "the beginning of the Sun." According to Japanese mythology, their ancestor was the Sun Goddess Amaterasu - hence the name.
